1. What this is

WeAreTheWorld is a project that assembles human portraits into a single, ever-growing mosaic. Anyone with a valid email address can create one account and contribute one portrait of themselves.

2. Your account

One person, one account. You're responsible for everything that happens under your account, including keeping your password safe. If you suspect someone else has access, change your password and contact us.

3. What you can upload

You may only upload a portrait that:

• shows your own face,
• was taken with your knowledge and consent,
• does not depict another identifiable person without their permission,
• is not sexual, hateful, violent, or otherwise unlawful, and
• is not AI-generated, deep-faked, or otherwise synthetically produced.

4. Moderation

Every uploaded portrait is reviewed before it appears in the mosaic. We may reject, remove, or replace any portrait for any reason, at any time, without notice. Users can report content they believe violates these terms; reports are reviewed by our team.

5. License you grant us

By uploading a portrait you grant WeAreTheWorld a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, resize, display, and tile your portrait as part of the mosaic, on this site and in promotional material showing the mosaic as a whole. You keep ownership of your portrait and can revoke this license at any time by removing the photo from your profile.

6. Removing your account

You can remove your portrait at any time from your profile. To delete your full account and associated data, contact us at hello@we-are-the-world.live.

7. Disclaimer

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do our best to keep the site available and your data safe, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted operation.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Sweden. Any dispute is settled by the Swedish courts.

9. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page changes when we do.
